Our Applique Fuse and Stick:
- Keeps the shape tacked down so it doesn't slip while the design is stitching.
- Prevents frayed edges of the applique´.
- Bonds the applique´ to the garment preventing bubbles in large shapes.
Instructions:
Method 1 Cutting applique first
- Fuse Applique Fuse and Stick to the wrong side of the fabric that you will use as the applique'.
- Use a dry iron at low temperature pressing through the paper release liner.
- Hoop that fabric and stitch the first outline onto it. (this is your cutting guide)
- Unhoop and trim the fabric close to the outline stitches.
- Hoop the garment and stitch the next color which is the placement outline for the applique.
- Peel the paper liner from the applique to expose the adhesive.
- Place the applique onto the garment matching and covering the placement outline. The applique can be repositioned as necessary.
- Continue stitching the design.
Method 2 Totally in the hoop
- Fuse Applique Fuse and Stick to the wrong side of the fabric that you will use as the applique'.
- Use a dry iron at low temperature pressing through the paper release liner.
- Rough cut the applique fabric. There is no need to be precise.
- Hoop the garment and stitch the first outline (the placement guide)
- Peel the paper liner from the applique to expose the adhesive and place to cover the placement guide.
- Stitch the next outline to tack down the applique.
- Carefully trim with sharp curved blade scissors close to the stitching without unhooping. Havel snips work great for this.
- Continue stitching the design.
