Applique Fuse and Stick

Our Applique Fuse and Stick:

  • Keeps the shape tacked down so it doesn't slip while the design is stitching.
  • Prevents frayed edges of the applique´.
  • Bonds the applique´ to the garment preventing bubbles in large shapes.

Instructions:

Method 1 Cutting applique first

  • Fuse Applique Fuse and Stick to the wrong side of the fabric that you will use as the applique'.
  • Use a dry iron at low temperature pressing through the paper release liner.
  • Hoop that fabric and stitch the first outline onto it. (this is your cutting guide)
  • Unhoop and trim the fabric close to the outline stitches.
  • Hoop the garment and stitch the next color which is the placement outline for the applique.
  • Peel the paper liner from the applique to expose the adhesive.
  • Place the applique onto the garment matching and covering the placement outline. The applique can be repositioned as necessary.
  • Continue stitching the design.

Method 2 Totally in the hoop

  • Fuse Applique Fuse and Stick to the wrong side of the fabric that you will use as the applique'.
  • Use a dry iron at low temperature pressing through the paper release liner.
  • Rough cut the applique fabric. There is no need to be precise.
  • Hoop the garment and stitch the first outline (the placement guide)
  • Peel the paper liner from the applique to expose the adhesive and place to cover the placement guide.
  • Stitch the next outline to tack down the applique.
  • Carefully trim with sharp curved blade scissors close to the stitching without unhooping. Havel snips work great for this.
  • Continue stitching the design.
